Create the Event (Mobile)

Step 1. Create a new event

Tap the + icon and select "single-stage". Enter a name (e.g., "Tuesday training 14.1.") and date. No other fields need to be filled in.

Step 2. Define a class and course

Add one class (e.g., "Training") and one course. Detailed course data is not needed — just a name is enough.

Registrations (Mobile)

Step 3. Register participants on site

Runners register by reading their chip on the USB reader. The app creates a registration for each new chip and shows the name if the runner has used Navisport before — otherwise enter the name manually.

Step 4. Handle runners without a chip

Add manually: tap the add button, enter the name, and assign to a class. You'll record their time manually by name. Alternatively, lend a rental chip and note the chip number.

Timing (Mobile)

Step 5. Send runners from the Start tab

Switch to the Reader Start tab. The runner reads their chip and tap Register to course. Fixed start intervals are not needed.

Step 6. Record finishes on the Finish tab

On the Finish tab, each chip read shows the runner's name and running time. Tap the status button twice to confirm. The reader locks after each read — confirm before the next punch.

The finish time is calculated from the chip's internal data, not from the confirmation moment.

Step 7. Handle re-starts

A second start creates a new result entry. The app handles multiple runs per participant.

Step 8. View results

The Results tab shows everyone's times sorted by running time. Results are on the public results page immediately — share the link in a group chat.

Step 9. Sync

All data syncs to the cloud automatically. If connectivity drops, data is stored locally and uploads when the connection returns. Results can be viewed from any device.

Tips

  • Keep the phone connected to a power bank — the USB reader drains the battery faster than normal.
  • If start and finish are in the same location, one phone handles both.
  • If start and finish are far apart, use Automaton at the finish for automatic recording.
  • Details (courses, maps, class names) can be added later from the desktop.
  • Use consistent class and course names if runners want to compare times across weeks.
