Start List

Entering the mode

Tap an event in the event list view and select Start List. The mode is available only when the event has registrations with assigned start times.

Reading the start list

Participants are displayed grouped by start time. Each time slot shows the scheduled start time (HH:MM) as a header and below it the participants starting at that time: name, class, and bib number.

The list is in chronological order. If multiple participants share the same start time (mass start, relay leg), they appear under the same header.

Managing participants

Tap a participant to toggle their status (Registered ↔ On course). This is the quickest way to register a start without a reader.

Long-press to open the action menu:

  • On course / Registered — toggle status
  • Did not start — mark as absent
  • Edit — open quick edit (chip number, start time)

Changes save and sync immediately.

Chip reading

If a USB reader is connected, a participant can read their chip to register as on course. The app finds the registration by chip and marks the participant as competing.

Settings

  • Auto scroll — keeps the current time slot visible
  • Prestart — highlights participants who should be called to the prestart area
  • Start place — filter displayed participants (for multiple start places)

Printing start lists

From the settings menu, Print start lists. Two list types:

  • Start list by classes — one page per class, participants by start time
  • Start list by minutes — all participants by start minute regardless of class

Select classes or starts with the filter and tap PDF. The Android share sheet opens for saving, printing, or sharing.

Scenario: Managing starts at a club race

60 participants, 1-minute start interval from 10:00. Two phones: Start Clock for the countdown, Start List as reference.

  1. Open Start List mode, scroll to 10:00
  2. Call the next starters to the prestart area based on the list
  3. Participant doesn't show up → long-press the name → select Did not start
  4. Auto scroll keeps the current time visible

Tips

  • Long-press a participant and select Edit to update chip number or start time at the last moment.
  • Enable auto scroll during busy start periods.
  • The start place filter shows only participants for your location.
  • This mode uses little battery — no reader connection or active timing.
